Monument Homenatge a Picasso

31 May. Passeig de Picasso: while strolling along the avenue of plane trees alongside the walls and bougainvillea-festooned railings bounding the gardens of La Ciutadella and the Museu de Geología, I performed a circuit to regard the four very different aspects of the assemblage of objects that is the Monument Homenatge a Picasso, 1983 of Antoni Tàpies, before returning to a straighter line.

Trees in Barcelona (1)

There are a great variety of trees planted along the streets of Barcelona, and occasionally one finds a label on the ground close by that identifies them. Often a street is characterized by the tree species chosen for it, such as the magnolias of Carrer Gran de Gràcia and the bottletrees of Carrer de Balmes.
